It's Carnival time!

Parades, parties, and music galore! New Orleans and its surrounding cities play host to numerous Parades. There will be second line dancing and the Mardi Gras Mambo for all to enjoy. It is hard to believe that it will ever cease to end. Sadly, the festivies will end Mardi Gras Day, "Fat Tuesday", February 17th. So gather ya momma' an' dim, da' friends, an' check out da' parade schedule.

The Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans...

The battle of New Orleans took place on January 8, 1815 at the Chalmette Battlefield, It was the last major battle of the war of 1812. New Orleans will Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Battle of New Orleans with a host of events that begin on January 6th starting with General Packenham's final supper. Battle re-enactments will take place on the Chalmette battlefield beginning January 9th. http://neworleans1815.cottonbaler.com

Who's up for a Marathon.....
What a way to start your 2015 fitness program! One of New Orleans famous races, the annual Rock 'n' Roll Marathon will take place on January 25th. Runners at the end of the race will be thrown a street party.

Go down to Oak Street on January 27 & 28 and enjoy New Orlean's great food. After running the marathon, this event will give you that needed break and prepare you for the Mardi Gras festivities.
